Updates from the Cannons

Hey girls!

So here is what has been happening the last little while in Chris and I's lives.

Chris is going to Devry University and is majoring in Computer Networking and Management. He is very smart with technology so he is doing very well. Right now he has a 4.0! All of his classes are online right now so it is very flexible. He has to read, write, and watch all his lectures on the computer so he spends lots of time in the office.

I have been pretty busy at my work. In April, I became a Charge Nurse which is like a mini manager for our unit. I am in charge of about 10 people making sure they are doing their required education and dealing with any issues that come up. We are having evaluations in October so I am getting ready for that. In addition to that roll, I am also a professional preceptor which means that I train new staff. That can be challenging at times especially because everyone has different learning styles. Also, I have a specialty roll on my unit in Neurological and Development for kids under 2. So that keeps me busy with meetings and projects. Needless to say, my job keeps me very busy.

Chris and I went to San Diego with Katie and Ted in May. It was supposed to be Hawaii, but with Aloha air going under and all, there were no stand-by seats left for us. So we flew to San Diego instead. It was a nice trip. We went to Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, and Old Town.

In August I went to Huntington Beach with my family. Chris was all set to go, but got a toothache the day before we were supposed to leave so we took him to the dentist and he said he would probably need a root canal. Luckily he just needed a crown. But he had to stay home to await a cancellation so they could get him in ASAP. But I went with my family, which was really nice because Jill went and I never get to see her. We went to the beach, Disneyland, and we tried surfing one day. It was my first time, and I couldn't quite stand up. But I think with practice it would come. Kinda like snowboarding.

That's pretty much all I can think of right now.
